Bicycles that the world has never seen before rolled on Tuesday, 1 September 2009, through the picturesque town of Argenbühl in the southern German region of Allgäu. On a perfectly sunny day, the third edition of the EUROBIKE Demo Day once again offered trade visitors and media representatives ideal conditions to put to the test the innovations of the coming bicycle season.
To kick off the world's leading trade show, EUROBIKE, (2 to 5 September 2009 in Friedrichshafen), 92 exhibitors and 109 brands of the global bicycle industry presented their products to international experts at the Demo Day in Argenbühl. On five different bicycle routes, 1,680 bicycle fans tested the latest developments in racing bikes, e-bikes, recumbent bicycles, folding bikes and mountain bikes. "This year's Demo Day has set new records and proved once again that it is the ideal addition to visiting the trade show," says Messe Friedrichshafen CEO Klaus Wellmann. "With countless friendly volunteers and fantastic infrastructure, the community of Argenbühl came through again as a top venue for the 'Woodstock of the bicycle industry.'"
The innovation test day also achieved top results when it comes to media coverage: 630 journalists from 32 countries spread bike news from Argenbühl to the entire world (2008: 370 journalists).
